In Las Vegas, Mr C’s associate Lorraine sends a message that activates a mysterious black box in Buenos Aires. Detective Madeley learns that the John Doe’s stomach contained Dougie’s wedding ring. Languishing in prison, Mr C discovers that Bob is still within him. Sherriff Frank Trueman calls his ailing brother and receives a visit from his angry wife. Janey-E drives the still-dazed Cooper to work at ‘Lucky 7 Insurance’, where he sees a cowboy statue. In a staff meeting with Dougie’s boss, Bushnell Mullins, the Lodge guides Cooper into calling out a colleague for lying; meeting with Mullins privately, Cooper reacts to the words ‘agent’ and ‘case files’. At the ‘Silver Mustang Casino’, Duncan Todd watches as the owners, the Mitchum brothers, take out their anger on a supervisor. Criminals attempt to steal Dougie’s car but are caught in a the booby-trap bomb-blast. Jade drops Cooper's ‘Great Northern Hotel’ room key in a mailbox. At the ‘RR Diner’, Shelly gives money to her daughter Becky, who then snorts cocaine with her useless husband Steven Burnett. Doctor Jacoby broadcasts his ‘Dr Amp’ livestream of his conspiracy theories, watched by Jerry Horne and Nadine Hurley; he uses the platform to promote his custom-made ‘Shit-Digging Shovels’. At the Pentagon, Lieutenant Cindy Knox informs Colonel Davis that the headless corpse's fingerprints match Major Briggs’. At the Roadhouse, Richard Horne bribes Deputy Chad and assaults a woman. FBI Agent Tammy discovers that Cooper's on-file fingerprints are the reverse of Mr C’s. Warden Murphy allows Mr C his phone call; the doppelgänger dials a special number that disrupts the prison’s security system, allowing him to leave a coded message on the black box that transforms it into a silver ball.
